Our highly-experienced physicians at Idaho Orthopaedic & Sports Clinic are the official team physicians for the Idaho State University Bengals. We take care of all athletic teams and for your convenience, our sports medicine clinic is located adjacent to the Idaho State University Strength and Conditioning Center as well as the Holt Arena.


Steven L. Coker, M.D.

Dr. Coker is board certified to perform orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He attended medical school at the University of Arkansas and interned at the University of Tennessee in the general surgery department.

His orthopedic surgery residencies were completed at the Campbell Clinic of the University of Tennessee and the Idaho State University team as an Orthopedic surgeon.

During his career, Dr. Coker has served in the Marine Corps as a Harrier jet pilot and he is the former president of the Idaho Medical Society.



Benjamin Allen, M.D.

Dr. Allen studied medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and completed his residency at The Mayo Clinic in orthopaedic surgery.

After his residency, he completed a fellowship at The University of Michigan in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Reconstruction. Dr. Allen has extensive experience has helped him in covering the Idaho State University Athletic teams were he serves as the Head Team Orthopaedic Surgeon. Previously Dr Allen served as a team physician for The University Of Michigan.

Benjamin Allen, M.D. specializes in the following:

Matthew Andres, D.O.

Dr. Andres attended medical school at Toro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine then completed his internship at the Navel Medical Center in San Diego focusing on internal medicine. Dr. Andres served in the marine corp as a battalion surgeon, serving two combat deployments to Afghanistan. Upon returning Dr. Andres completed his residency in family medicine at UC Davis followed with a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the University of Alabama.

Dr. Andres is the Head Team Physician for Idaho State University Athletics and a former Team Physician for the University of Alabama.
